The City of Belmont will now be handling yard waste and leaf requests starting July 1st 2021. This was most recently handled by Waste Pro, but as a result of City Council requests and approval, will be handled by City of Belmont staff moving forward.
Yard Waste Definition: Leaves, twigs, grass, weeds flowers, wood chips, plants, hedge & shrub prunings 1" or less in diameter and other easily raked yard waste. No tree limbs or branches greater than 1" diameter. No food scraps, animal waste, trash of any kind, rocks, soil or plastic bags are allowed.
Residents can schedule a yard waste pick-up by going to www.cityofbelmont.org/yardwaste or calling 704-825-0507. Loose leaves that are raked to the curb are only picked up (vacuumed) October - March. Any loose leaves that are not bagged will not be picked up April - September. Any loose grass clippings will not be picked up.

Collection and disposal of regular solid waste, targeted recyclable and organic material for the City of Belmont is provided under contract with Recology of San Mateo County. These services are required for all residential and commercial premises within the City limits.
